Oxygen The Giver Of Life And Death

As I'm writing this article, I am thinking back to more than ten years ago when I was first diagnosed with epiglottic head and neck cancer. If I had known then what I know now, I would not have had to suffer the debilitating effects of simultaneously infusing chemotherapy drugs with high-level radiation treatments. I am thankful for the doctors and medical staff that treated me, as they only could give me what they knew and understood to be the best treatment at the time. Today, there is a better way to treat all cancers; oxygen therapy increases our chances for a better outcome, whether used as an adjunct therapy or possibly a primary protocol.

There is not a single pathogenic human disease-causing organism that can resist the destructive power of oxygen.

Oxygen In Conjunction With Balanced Oxidation Destroys All Obligatory Anaerobic Organisms

Everyone knows we need oxygen, each of us breathes around 3000 gallons of it every day. There are many things we can do without, but we can’t go mere moments without breathing oxygen. We can go without food for about 40 days, without water for about seven days, but how long can we go without life-giving oxygen?

We also know, oxygen brings us health and life, by wielding a sword of death, so powerful, there is not a single pathogenic human disease-causing organism able to resist its destructive power. Oxygen is toxic to ALL obligatory anaerobic organisms. One of those obligatory anaerobic organisms you may be familiar with is cancer.

Definition of; OBLIGATORY ANAEROBIC ORGANISM - "A facultative anaerobe is an organism that makes ATP by aerobic respiration if oxygen is present but is capable of switching to fermentation or anaerobic respiration if oxygen is absent. An obligate aerobe, by contrast, cannot make ATP in the absence of oxygen, and obligate anaerobes die in the presence of oxygen.

Oxidation in the human body is a two edged sword. On one hand it provides us with the energy we need to live and on the other hand it can contribute to disease and sickness, when left unchecked.

High Levels Of Oxygen And Managed Oxidative Stress Are Necessary To Support Life.

The problem with the oxidative process is that certain types of altered oxygen molecules called "Free Radicals" which are ever-present in our bodies. The major problem with the free radicals is they are highly reactive and unstable. As they react in our bodies body, they cause damage to our cells and even our DNA, causing degeneration and playing a part in almost all of our diseases.

Uncontrolled oxidation of cells by free radicals makes the human body "rust" like oxidation of metal makes it rust - and you know what rust does to the strength and natural beauty of the metal. We call this oxidative stress. Our bodies need the help of "antioxidants" to neutralize the oxidation properties of those invading free radicals

To get oxygen that is pure and burns clean means we need to keep our bodies hydrated with water and the best water comes from fresh fruits and vegetables that contain naturally structured distilled water. So, now we can increase the amount of pure oxygen and decrease oxidative stress, just by eating the right combinations of foods, filled with water and oxygen.

When oxygen levels are increased, red blood cells pick up the extra oxygen, and provide it to our body tissues, systems and organs.

Oxygen... Affects Every Bodily Process

When we take a breath, oxygen is absorbed by the lungs and transferred to the bloodstream, then is transported to the cells where an elaborated change process takes place. The nutrient compounds, inside of our cells, are oxidized "burned" creating energy and heat for our bodies, through complex enzymatic processes.

The oxidation process in itself is necessary as it has to take place for our cells to get the nourishment they need to support life. Even the byproducts made up of carbon dioxide and water (Exhaled air has a relative humidity of 100%) play a part in preserving our health as they are eliminated through our lungs.

Plants, algae and bacteria's take sunlight and combine carbon dioxide (CO2) and water (H2O). and create glucose (C6H12O6) and oxygen gas (O2). When measured by mass, oxygen is the third-most abundant element in the universe.

Oxygen... It's Bigger Than You Think

Oxygen constitutes most of the mass of living organisms because water is their major constituent. Humans are made up of, about two-thirds water. Every organ, bone and molecules, such as proteins, nucleic acids, carbohydrates, and fats, contain water and oxygen. The air we breathe is a contains oxygen derived from phytoplankton, cyanobacteria, algae, and plants; they produce elemental oxygen, used in cellular respiration for all complex life forms.

With humans, being the most complex lifeforms on the planet, there is not a bodily function that does not require oxygen. Our cells operate by burning glucose and oxygen. This process, when working at peak levels provide our bodies with the energy we need to live without diseases or sickness.

When there is, what Dr. Ann Wigmore termed a deficiency at the cellular level, the waste products carbon dioxide & water are not able to move out of the cell. When this happens it sets the stage for insufficient oxygen at the cellular level, this aerobic respiration turns into anaerobic fermentation and carbon monoxide and lactic acid will be formed. The body can not easily rid itself of monoxide as it prevents the hemoglobin from picking up fresh oxygen in the lungs. At this point, we usually begin to see lactic acid building up, causing degeneration of the cells. As these dead and dying cells move through the body, the blood and lymph systems have to deal with carrying a heavy load of sludge, these systems become more and more toxic. Eventually, toxins will overwhelm the bodies systems, and sickness and disease will result in hypoxia or oxygen starvation.

It's Not The Same Air Our Grandfathers Breathed

As humans, we get oxygen in various ways, the primary source being the air we breathe. The problem is, the air we breathe today is not the same air our ancestor’s breathed. In fact the World Health Organization estimates 2 million people will die, this year from air pollution.

For sure there is less oxygen on earth than there was when your grandfather was born, but even with less oxygen, there is still plenty to lasts earth’s population for another million years. So, the problem is not that were not getting enough atmospheric oxygen; in fact there is substantial evidence, that the real issue is the increased use of fossil fuel burning.

When you add in the rising levels of toxic chemicals in our air, you can quickly understand what is causing untold oxidative stress and immune system dysfunctions and a bevy or other diseases.

Here in the USA, we are closing in on almost 50 years of Clean Air Act programs, and though they have brought some improvements to our air quality, the program have still fallen short.

This year, here in America, nearly 180 million people will continue to live in areas where the air pollution is considered dangerous. With 6 out of 10 American's having to breathe air that causes disease and illnesses, it's no wonder this generation has more health challenges than any in recorded history.

Take a minute and check out Tox Town, its a great site with excellent graphics This site helps you to understand better how toxins are affecting the air quality, where you live.

Warburg Proves Oxygen Destroys Cancer Cells

Otto Warburg, a German biochemist, won a Nobel Prize in 1931 for medicine and physiology for his study that revealed, cancer cells cannot exist in the presence of oxygen.

Cancer, above all other diseases, has countless secondary causes. But, even for cancer, there is only one prime cause. Summarized in a few words, the prime cause of cancer is the replacement of the respiration of oxygen in normal body cells by a fermentation of sugar."

Warburg's research shows the fundamental difference between normal and cancerous cells to be the ratio of glycolysis to respiration. Warburg's finding run contrary to the commonly held uncontrolled growth theory. Later, he summarized this hypothesis in a book entitled The Prime Cause and Prevention of Cancer, which he presented in lecture, at the meeting of the Nobel-Laureates on June 30, 1966. In this speech, Warburg presented evidence proving anaerobiosis to be a primary cause of cancerous cells.

One of the main ways of increasing cellular oxygen is to use chlorophyll. Chlorophyll stimulates the production of red blood cells in hemoglobin, which carries oxygen to the cells. Chlorophyll often returns red blood cell counts to normal within four to five days, thus enabling our cell to carry clean burning oxygen to our cells.

In recent years, Warburg's hypothesis regained significant attention amongst scientists due to several discoveries linking impaired mitochondrial function as well as impaired respiration to growth, division, and expansion of cancer cells.

Chlorophyll The Great Oxygenator

One of the best things we can do for our bodies is to eat foods rich in Chlorophyll (found in all green foods like dark leafy greens). It's a rich oxygenator, releases carbon dioxide from our blood, gets rid of impurities, lowers oxidative stress and is referred to by many, as a “blood builder”.

Research studies in humans have found that oxygen levels can be increased, and damage to DNA by aflatoxins decreased, by as much as 55%, through eating a half a cup of green chlorophyll-rich foods, three times a day, for four months.

Chlorophyll Affects Every Bodily Function

The enzymes, amino acids in chlorophyll contain antibacterial compounds that are especially good at destroying anaerobic bacteria that thrive in oxygen-poor blood and tissue. Anaerobic bacteria, which cannot live in the presence of oxygen-producing agents, can cause infections, inflammations, ulcers, and purifications. Chlorophyll helps to protect against these and other carcinogens. It acts to strengthen the cells, detoxify the liver and bloodstream and chemically neutralize polluting elements in the environment.

Chlorophyll increases the function of the heart and affects the vascular system, the intestines, the uterus, and lungs. It helps in the stimulation and regeneration of the liver — the main organ of detoxification in the body.

Nobel Prize winner Dr. Hans Fischer has shown, chlorophyll has a chemical structure that is quite similar to the chemical structure found in our red blood cells. The only difference is our blood cells contains an atom of iron at their center and plants, contain an atom of magnesium at the center.

Chlorophyll Is Remarkably Similar To Blood

Although research is still in the early stage, prevention and treatment of liver cancer, skin cancer, and colon cancer are all being investigated in relationship to the intake of chlorophyll-containing vegetables.

Scientists have known about the deodorizing properties of chlorophyll for some time. It is for this reason that some drugs, chewing gum, breath fresheners and antiseptics contain chlorophyll.

Wheat grass juice, dark leafy greens, and vegetables contain this green liquid oxygen, which is vital to all our bodies systems and processes. It stimulates digestion, clearer thinking (the brain uses 25% of the bodily oxygen supply) and promotes better blood circulation.

Nobel Prize winner Dr. Hans Fischer while doing research on red blood cells, discovered that chlorophyll is remarkably similar to human blood on the molecular level.

Chlorophyll is rapidly assimilated into the bodies systems when we eat green foods. It has been theorized this happens because of its resemblance to hemoglobin. It enters the red blood cells and works to heal tissues, purify the liver, balance blood sugar and flush out toxins.

Over Cooking Foods Destroys The Chlorophyll & Oxygen Structure

PLEASE NOTE: It's important to eat as much of your green foods in their raw state as is reasonably possible. You can increase your intake of greens, by adding in green smoothies on a daily basis. Eating our green foods in a raw state preserves the chlorophyll.

When green vegetables are cooked or exposed to acid, the magnesium gets removed and is replaced by an atom of hydrogen. With this one simple change, the color of the vegetable changes from bright green to olive-gray and loses its chlorophyll advantage.

When we cook our greens, there is a dramatic loss of chlorophyll. In studies on green vegetables, such as broccoli, for example, about 2/3 of the chlorophyll was removed after 20 minutes of boiling.

Researchers have also determined when increasing the boiling time of broccoli there is a simultaneous loss of chlorophyll, starting at five minutes. However, at cooking times of less than five minutes, suggest that green leafy vegetables like spinach increases the amount of chlorophyll that is assimilated by the body into our body.
